The Board of Directors of Ghana Oil Company (Goil,) has rendered an apology to President Nana Akufo-Addo after they falsely accused him of breaching procedures in appointing a new head for the company.

An online portal had earlier reported that President Nana Akufo-Addo had appointed Mr. Osei Prempeh as new GOIL CEO and also made fresh appointments to the Forestry Commission and the Ghana Health Service.

Speaker & MPs Angry as Local Gov't Ministers 'dodge' Urgent Questions

The Speaker and Members of Parliament are livid with the Local Government Minister and his deputies for disrespecting the House.

The three men have on three occasions refused to appear before the House to answer an urgent question in respect of the floods that claimed over 150 lives in Accra.

MP for Aburi-Nsawam OB Amoah wanted the minister and his deputies to explain to the House the circumstances under which the June 3 flood and fire disasters occurred and similar other floods across the country.

Report On Woyome Judgment Debt: Trial Judge ‘Erred,’ Betty Mould was ‘Ignorant’

A leaked report of the Judgment Debt commission has faulted the Attorney General’s Department and the trial court for failing to prevent the payment of the controversial GH¢51 million judgment debt to businessman, Alfred Agbesi Woyome.

According to the report, the then Attorney General Betty Mould Iddrisu going by Alfred Agbesi Woyome’s own pleaded case, had no business in ordering that he [Woyome] be paid the cedi equivalent of €22, 129,501.74 for his alleged financial engineering costs alone.

Court Placed An Interlocutory Injunction On; Odike And 2 Others In UFP

The Accra Fast-Track High Court, presided over by Mr Justice K. A Ofori Atta, has placed an interlocutory injunction on three persons of the United Front Party (UFP) and the Electoral Commission (EC) from holding elections to elect officers towards the forth coming general election.
They are the 2012 presidential candidate of the UFP, Mr Akwasi Addai, alias Odike; the party’s General Secretary, Mr Samuel Bekoe Owusu, and the Deputy General Secretary, Mr Razak Jojo Opoku.

Apologise To Nana Akufo Addo-NMC

The National Media Commission (NMC) has directed Daily Post, Ghanaian Lens, The Enquirer, Informer and Al-Hajj to retract and apologize to Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, the presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party(NPP).

A statement signed by Mr Kabral Amihere, NMC Chairman and copied to the Ghana News Agency on Friday said, on June 16, 2014, Nana Akufo-Addo filed a complaint with the Commission against publications in the Daily Post, Ghanaian Lens, The Enquirer, Informer and Al-Hajj newspapers.

His Excellency, President John Dramani Mahama has been retained as the chairman of the Economic Community Of West African States (ECOWAS) till May 2015, as reported earlier by Peacefmonline.com.

This is due to the excellent leadership traits he exhibited as leader of the sub-region.

The decision was taken at a close door meeting held by the Heads of state at the 46th Ordinary Session of the ECOWAS Authority of Heads of State and Government in Abuja, Nigeria.
